Job Description:
6 Star Management is seeking a Maintenance Porter to join the maintenance team at The Rose Property in Northridge, CA, a 475-unit community. This position supports the overall appearance, cleanliness, and daily upkeep of the property while assisting the maintenance team with general tasks that help ensure the community remains safe, clean, and well-maintained.
The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean and presentable community, responds well to direction, and works effectively in a team-oriented environment. This role is important to the day-to-day operations of the property and contributes to the overall resident experience and appearance of the community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Maintain the cleanliness and overall appearance of the property, including common areas, walkways, breezeways, parking areas, laundry rooms, and other shared spaces
· Pick up and remove trash, debris, and other items from the grounds and common areas on a regular basis
· Assist with the upkeep of landscaping areas, curb appeal, and exterior presentation of the property
· Support the maintenance team with general labor tasks, unit turn preparation, and other assigned maintenance-related duties
· Clean and prepare vacant units as directed to support rent-ready standards for incoming residents
· Assist with moving supplies, equipment, appliances, and materials as needed
· Help maintain the maintenance shop, storage rooms, and work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition
· Conduct routine walkthroughs of the property to identify cleanliness concerns, safety issues, or maintenance needs and report them to the Maintenance Supervisor or Property Manager
· Support the team in maintaining pools, amenities, and common-use areas where applicable
· Follow company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards at all times
· Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented attitude when interacting with residents, coworkers, vendors, and the general public
· Perform other duties as assigned in support of property operations
Key Qualifications:
· Prior porter, janitorial, groundskeeping, or general labor experience in apartment communities, residential property management, or a related setting preferred
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
· Strong work ethic, dependable attendance, and willingness to take initiative
· Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
· Ability to identify property appearance issues, cleanliness concerns, and basic maintenance needs and communicate them appropriately
· Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to maintain positive relationships with residents, coworkers, and management
· Service-oriented mindset and professional attitude
· Ability to perform the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, walking the property, climbing stairs, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation may be required based on business needs
Additional Requirements (Education, Training, and Experience):
· High school diploma or GED required
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
