Portfolio Analytics Associate

Bonaccord Capital Partners (“BCP”) is seeking an Associate hire within the Portfolio Analytics function to support the on-going monitoring and reporting on existing investments. This is a unique opportunity for a professional who approaches problems with an investor’s mindset. The role sits directly within the investment team and combines portfolio analytics, performance reporting, and ongoing monitoring, all while offering meaningful exposure to investors and partner sponsor management teams. This role provides potential for significant exposure to senior management and professional development in a high-growth, innovative business. The role requires working knowledge of private markets investments strategies, financial statement analysis, investment performance reporting, and asset valuation methodologies. Candidates need strong analytical and presentation skills, as well as outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.


Duties and responsibilities


Investment Monitoring

  • Serve as liaison to partner sponsor CFOs, coordinating the collection of detailed financial and operational data to support the quarterly valuation process
  • Analyze and reconcile investment‑level financial records to ensure accuracy and compliance with investment agreements
  • Participate in portfolio review meetings with partner sponsors, while taking note of insights on performance trends, valuation drivers, and risk considerations
  • Prepare and present quarterly valuation materials and memoranda, synthesizing financial results, key developments, and updated return expectations for internal committees


Fund Monitoring

  • Produce investment‑level / fund-level gross performance analysis, including the preparation of gross MOIC, gross DPI, gross IRR, and return bridges used for quarterly valuation meetings and LP reporting
  • Maintain and enhance fund‑level forecasting models to project capital deployment, DPI progression, carry waterfalls, NAV evolution, and overall fund liquidity


Investor Reporting

  • Produce quarterly and annual investor reports with clear analysis of fund performance, market drivers, and material portfolio developments
  • Prepare and deliver recurring investor reporting packages, including portfolio updates, performance attribution, and key financial metrics
  • Support investor due diligence processes by compiling historical performance, operational data, and narrative commentary


Requirements

  • 2+ years relevant work experience coming from a public + buy-side background across fund audit, investor reporting, fund accounting, and/or performance reporting
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong knowledge of private markets strategies and firms; high degree of intellectual curiosity about the alternatives industry and its business dynamics
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills
  • Self-starting attitude and entrepreneurial spirit balanced with a commitment to teamwork
  • Proactive in following up on details, anticipating issues, and closing loops on all requests
  • Exceptional ability to multi-task while still maintaining a fine-tuned attention to detail
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex information both orally and in written formats
  • Resourceful and able to handle multiple and changing priorities
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word)
