Description

The Portfolio Group at Albourne plays a crucial role in delivering investment advice and maintaining daily interactions with our clients. We are seeking a Portfolio intern this summer for a 3‑month period to support client-linked analytical and operational projects, with an emphasis on (i) identifying, building, and improving repeatable workflows, (ii) assisting the AI support team on relevant tasks, (iii) leveraging automation through programming (especially Python), and (iv) evaluating and responsibly using AI tools (including Copilot / agentic workflows) to enhance how we deliver work.
Throughout the internship, there may be opportunities to engage in additional tasks and gain diverse experiences across the firm (e.g., with our Client Group, Risk Advisory, or Due Diligence groups), but the core work will remain client-linked and outcome-oriented.

Key Responsibilities

  • The intern will work with the Connecticut Portfolio Group team to address team projects. These projects have historically included assisting client teams in calls, preparation of client presentation materials, the construction of tools, gathering performance information, and assisting in the evaluation of AI-focused tools, among many others.
  • In addition, this internship is likely to include a specific focus on supporting Albourne’s automation goals. Depending on business needs and the intern’s strengths, responsibilities may include:
  • Working with the AI support team to establish process.
  • Building or enhancing Python-based tools to automate recurring Portfolio Group workflows (e.g., data cleaning, formatting, quality checks, repeatable reporting outputs).
  • Prototyping “agentic” workflows (e.g., Copilot / internal AI-assisted processes) that accelerate document and data workflows while maintaining appropriate controls.
  • Supporting the evaluation, testing, and benchmarking of AI-enabled tools used by the team (e.g., identifying high-value use cases, documenting limitations, and proposing safe/controlled ways to deploy).
  • Producing clear documentation and handover notes so that tools/workflows can be reused after the internship ends.
