Portfolio Maintenance Technician

Position Summary
The Portfolio Maintenance Technician is a hybrid maintenance role supporting both JVM Realty’s Oak Brook corporate headquarters and nearby multifamily residential communities. This position is split approximately 50% at the corporate office and 50% in the field, performing standard maintenance technician responsibilities at assigned multifamily properties.

This role requires a dependable, tech-savvy professional who can manage daily building operations, execute corporate-assigned projects, and seamlessly transition into a residential maintenance environment while upholding JVM Realty’s standards for safety, service, and operational excellence.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Split time between JVM Realty’s Oak Brook corporate office and nearby multifamily communities (approximately 50/50)
  • Perform routine building and grounds maintenance, including basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry repairs
  • Open and prepare the corporate office daily, ensuring the building is safe, secure, and operational
  • Complete preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate vendor support as needed
  • Execute corporate-assigned facility projects and general office repairs
  • Support on-site property teams with work orders, apartment turns, inspections, and special projects
  • Use maintenance software and mobile tools to receive assignments, document work, and communicate progress
  • Deliver professional, resident-focused service while maintaining safety, quality, and company standards
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $24-26/hr JVM Management, Inc. determines individual pay within this range based on factors including qualifications, experience, scope of responsibilities, and internal equity.
This pay range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
Final compensation will be determined at the time of offer.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of maintenance technician experience (multifamily preferred)
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC fundamentals, and carpentry
  • Strong comfort level with mobile devices, work order systems, and email communication
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical maintenance tasks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting office or commercial facilities
  • EPA certification, HVAC certification, CPO certification
  • Experience working across multiple properties
Driving and Traveling Requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance for personal vehicle transportation throughout the community to complete apartment home inspections and repairs or to pick up replacement parts and supplies from vendors, when approved by the supervisor. Approximately, 10% of the time.
ADA Physical Requirements of the Position:
  • Snow removal to include shoveling and snow blowing walk ways and stairs in the community
  • Must be able to perform outdoor job functions in all weather conditions, approximately 25% of the time
  • Must be able to lift up to 80lbs, approximately10% of the time
  • Must be able to climb stairs, approximately 10% of the time
  • Must be able to walk the community grounds, approximately 15% of the time
  • Must be able to climb a ladder approximately 5% of the time
