Positive Support Professional

Schedule: Flexible Day Shift: looking for full-time

Salary: $62,400 - $64,480 per year

Job Summary:

Affinity Care MN is looking for a passionate Positive Support Professional to join our team. The primary purpose of this position is to make a positive impact on the lives of those who suffer from mental health concerns. The Positive Support Professional will work with clients 1:1 to help and assist with maladaptive behaviors. All duties are subject to policy, and procedures, and supervisory or management guidelines, and may be changed. Other responsibilities include staff development and other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Job Responsibilities:

• Counseling clients on issues such as stress management, grief counseling, developing and utilizing coping strategies, managing mental health symptoms, or skill development.
• Following up with patients after an initial assessment to ensure that treatment goals are being met
• Conducting psychological assessments of clients to identify their strengths and weaknesses and help them develop goals for improvement.
• Track and report maladaptive behavior.
• Providing therapy services such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), family therapy, DBT, or mindfulness.
• Teaching clients new skills and methods to cope with stress or anxiety in their lives.
• Providing crisis intervention services such as suicide prevention or intervention with patients who are experiencing psychotic episode.
• Conducting research to identify best practices in the field of mental health care and implementing evidence based strategies.
• Provide clients with positive reinforcement and feedback.
• Complete all mandated training to ensure compliance with state and federal laws
• Willingness to be flexible for schedule changes and work locations.

Other Duties:

• Conduct assessments and evaluations of clients to determine their needs and develop treatment plans
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, to address the client's mental health concerns
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychiatrists and psychologists, to coordinate client care
• Provide crisis intervention services to clients in urgent situations
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records and documentation
• Stay current with changes in diagnostic criteria and coding systems (e.g., ICD-9, ICD-10) for accurate billing and reimbursement purposes
• Can lift at least 50 lbs

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited institution
• Current state licensure as a Clinical Social Worker (Positive Support Professional)
• Strong knowledge of therapeutic techniques and interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy
• Familiarity with diagnostic criteria and coding systems (e.g., ICD-9, ICD-10)
• Experience in crisis intervention and working with individuals with special needs is preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective client engagement and collaboration with other professionals
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines in the provision of services
