The successful candidate will contribute to the development and application of analytical pipelines and computational methods to enable variant discovery, biomarker development, and integrative genomic analyses in large-scale cohort and translational research studies. The position emphasizes high-quality scientific output, collaborative research engagement, and progression toward independent research leadership.

As a transitional role toward research independence, the postdoctoral fellow will develop skills in scientific communication, supervision, project coordination, and engagement with national and international genomics initiatives.

Strategic Responsibilities

• Conduct research in bioinformatics and genomics as a responsible member of the BTC research team, contributing to study design, methodological planning, execution, interpretation, and reporting.
• Develop and apply bioinformatics workflows for large-scale biomedical datasets, including whole genome sequencing, transcriptomics, epigenomics, and other multi-omics modalities.
• Support the identification of genetic and molecular determinants of disease through approaches such as population genomics, association studies, and integrative multi-omics analysis.
• Maintain high standards of data documentation, reproducibility, and compliance with institutional research policies.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present results at scientific meetings relevant to genomics, bioinformatics, and biomedical research.
• Contribute to proposal writing and grant-supported research activities within computational biology and precision medicine.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students and contribute to training activities within the Center.

Operational Responsibilities

• Initiate and support grant-funded projects in genome science, bioinformatics, and translational biomedical research.
• Produce research outputs aligned with annual performance objectives, including publications, datasets, analytical tools, or computational resources.
• Engage in collaborative research with internal and external partners, including clinical collaborators, research institutes, and sequencing technology providers.
• Initiate and support grant-funded projects in plant genomics, agricultural biotechnology, and applied bioinformatics.
• Produce research outputs aligned with annual performance objectives, including publications, datasets, analytical tools, or genomic resources.
• Engage in collaborative research with internal and external partners, including breeding programs, agricultural agencies, and sequencing technology providers.

PhD (or equivalent) with expertise in at least two of the following areas:

• Genome science and human genetics
• Bioinformatics and computational biology
• Genetic epidemiology or population genetics
• Biostatistics and quantitative trait analysis

Multi-omics data integration and biomedical data science
