Job Description
We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of two-dimensional (2D) materials and van der Waals heterostructures for next-generation infrared and terahertz optoelectronic devices. The successful candidate will work on the UAEU Strategic Research project focused on engineering bandgap-tunable 2D heterostructures for MWIR, LWIR and THz photodetection. Responsibilities include:

Fabrication of vdWs heterostructures (mechanical exfoliation, deterministic stacking, CVD)

Optical and electrical characterization (Raman, PL, FTIR, THz-TDS)

Device fabrication and performance evaluation

DFT and multiscale modeling support

Supervision of PhD and MSc students
-
Publication of results in high-impact journals
Minimum Qualification
-
PhD in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, or related field

Proven experience in 2D materials and nanofabrication
-
Experience with optical spectroscopy and semiconductor device characterization

Strong publication record in Q1 journals

Excellent scientific writing skills
Preferred Qualification

Experience in IR/THz photodetectors

Experience with cleanroom processing

Knowledge of DFT simulations

Experience with nanophotonic integration
