PR FREELANCE PROFESSIONALS (AE THROUGH DIRECTOR LEVEL) — FOOD & BEVERAGE (B2B & B2C FOCUS)
Business is booming in our Food & Beverage practice, and we’re looking for seasoned freelance PR professionals in a wide range of experience levels to help us continue delivering standout work for our national clients. Whether your expertise lies in food trade, consumer packaged goods or food service, this is an opportunity to bring your strategic thinking, creativity and media savvy to a team that thrives on collaboration, innovation and results.
As part of our team, you’ll help build and execute smart, strategic PR programs that make headlines, move markets and strengthen client relationships. From media strategy and content development to influencer and crisis communications, you’ll partner with our creative team to deliver work that inspires and drives measurable outcomes.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead or support PR initiatives for national food & beverage clients across B2B and/or B2C segments
  • Develop and execute earned media strategies, from trade to consumer outlets
  • Build compelling narratives and messaging that drive awareness and engagement
  • Pitch, secure and manage media opportunities with key national and regional contacts
  • Partner with creative teams to develop content, activations and integrated campaigns
  • Support influencer outreach, sponsored content programs and brand partnerships
  • Manage PR budgets, draft scopes and track performance through data-driven reporting
  • Provide strategic counsel during issues or crises and help guide client communications
  • Coach, mentor and collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional results
What You Bring
  • 5+ years of PR agency experience in food & beverage communications (B2B, B2C or both)
  • Background in journalism, marketing or communications
  • Strong strategic thinking and storytelling skills with a focus on measurable results
  • Proven success in media relations, with established national and regional food trade and/or consumer lifestyle contacts
  • Proficiency with PR tools (Muck Rack, Cision, PR Newswire) and reporting analytics
  • Experience with influencer marketing, brand activations and integrated campaigns
  • Comfortable managing budgets, timelines and client expectations
  • Collaborative spirit with the ability to both lead and roll up your sleeves when needed
  • Experience handling crisis communications across traditional and social media
  • A passion for food, creativity and ideas that spark conversation and drive growth
Location & Flexibility
This is a freelance position. Ideal candidates are based in the Midwest (Milwaukee or Chicago) and can join in-person for occasional client or team meetings. Other regional locations may also be considered.
