Practice Nurse – Buxted Medical Centre

Buxted Medical Centre, incorporating our East Hoathly and Manor Oak (Horam) branches, is a welcoming and forward-thinking practice based in a purpose-built facility in the heart of the Sussex countryside. As a GP Training Practice and proud member of the Greater Wealden PCN, we are committed to delivering exceptional care in a supportive and collaborative environment.

We are a busy, friendly, and expanding three-partner practice, currently caring for a population of approximately 16,000 patients across our dispensing sites. To support our growing services, we are looking to recruit a dedicated Practice Nurse to join our experienced clinical team, working flexibly across our sites.

About the Role: We are ideally seeking someone to work 20 - 25 hours per week, with experience in chronic disease management—particularly diabetes, COPD, asthma, and child immunisations—as well as cervical screening. This is primarily a fixed term contract to cover maternity leave with the prospect of a permanent contract.

The successful candidate will be:

• A registered nurse (NMC required)
• A team player who is reliable, well-organised, and a strong communicator
• Able to work efficiently under pressure and engage confidently with a diverse patient population

Key Responsibilities:

• Cervical cytology
• Management of chronic diseases (diabetes, asthma, COPD)
• Delivering care in line with local and national guidelines
• Familiarity with QOF targets and documentation
• Working within the framework of Locally Commissioned Services and Direct Enhanced Services
• Participation in regular clinical and practice meetings

Systems used: EMIS Web, INR Star, Accurx and Docman (training provided if required)
