    Pre-Expulsion Behavior Interventionist

    Job Summary:
Operating under the direction of the Coordinator of Pre-Expulsion Behavior Support (PEBS) and the day-to-day guidance of the Building Leader, this position serves as the designated MTSS Tier 3 case manager for students demonstrating significant or habitual behavioral challenges who are at risk of pre-expulsion, expulsion, or are returning from expulsion. This role provides intensive Tier 3 behavioral intervention and case management through Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs), individualized intervention planning, explicit behavioral instruction, and transition support. The Building Principal leads the formal pre-expulsion process and the development of the Remedial Discipline Plan. This position participates in planning meetings and is primarily responsible for coordinating implementation, monitoring progress, and supporting staff, students, and families. The position supports both step-up interventions for students at risk of expulsion and step-down supports for students returning from expulsion or alternative placement. All intervention planning, implementation, progress monitoring, and documentation are maintained within the MTSS Student Support Behavior Plan, utilizing the Remedial Discipline Plan designation when applicable to ensure consistency and procedural fidelity.

    • Adjust intervention intensity, frequency, and grouping based on student response to data.
    • Share observations and progress monitoring data with staff to inform ongoing plan adjustments.

Step-Up Toward Expulsion & Step-Down From Expulsion Intervention Support
    • Implement and document required pre-expulsion interventions supporting "step-up" consideration toward expulsion when students do not respond to interventions.
    • Coordinate "step-down" transition and re-entry support for students returning from expulsion or alternative placement to ensure continuity of support.
    • Ensure continuity of behavioral expectations, supports, and monitoring across settings.

    Documentation, Data & MTSS Collaboration
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the MTSS Student Support Behavior Plan.
    • Track behavior data, intervention participation, attendance patterns, and student progress.
