Pre-K Age Childcare Program teacher

Job Overview
Join the Open Hearth After School Kids (OHASK) early childhood education team as a Pre-K Age Childcare Program Teacher. We are seeking a creative, reliable individual who enjoys spending time with three- five year olds. Be ready to play, promote a positive environment and support young people to explore interests and co-existence.

You will work with our program director to support a full day child-care program 3 days/week (T/Th/F). There is potential for additional hours on other days, if desired, and/or for some flexible scheduling. For the right person, we can work with your schedule and needs!

Previous experience working with students in an educational or childcare setting is preferred. Staff are compensated for completing required professional development. Come make a different in the lives of our young people!

Duties

• Implement age-appropriate activities, designed in collaboration with program director, that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development for preschool children
• Create a respectful and inclusive environment that celebrates each other's differences, similarities and individual contributions.
• Ensure the safety of all children by adhering to health and safety guidelines, including first aid procedures when necessary
• Foster a supportive atmosphere that encourages creativity through arts, storytelling, music, and play-based learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum plans that align with early childhood education standards and special education needs
• Support children's emotional development and well-being .

Requirements

• Prior experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, camp, tutoring, babysitting, or similar settings is highly preferred
• Certification in first aid and CPR is required or must be completed within initial months of hiring.

Pay: $23.50 - $26.50 per hour
