Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Pre-K Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for preschool-aged children. This role involves developing age-appropriate curriculum, fostering social and emotional growth, and ensuring each child's developmental needs are met through innovative teaching strategies. The Pre-K Lead Teacher will play a vital role in preparing young learners for future academic success while promoting a love of learning.
Duties
- Design and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Develop and adapt curriculum to meet the diverse needs of children, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Manage classroom activities to promote positive behavior management and effective classroom management strategies.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
- Assess children's progress through observations, assessments, and standardized testing to tailor instruction accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to communicate children's developmental milestones and progress.
- Incorporate child welfare practices to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in care.
- Supervise assistant teachers or aides, providing guidance on classroom management and instructional techniques.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, literacy education, tutoring techniques, and other relevant areas such as STEM or Montessori methods.
- Support children with diverse needs by implementing early intervention strategies and integrating special education practices when necessary.
Requirements
- Must have a valid CDA
- Proven experience working with preschool-aged children in classroom settings or daycare environments.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development across various domains including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Background in early childhood education or related fields such as special education or early intervention is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate standardized testing results where applicable.
- Familiarity with childcare regulations, child welfare practices, and inclusive teaching strategies for diverse learners.
