We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pre-K Lead Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a nurturing, engaging classroom environment. As a Pre-K Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing developmentally appropriate curricula that promote early childhood education, literacy, social-emotional growth, and physical development. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including Montessori methods when applicable.
- Create a vibrant classroom environment that encourages curiosity, independence, and social interaction among preschool children.
- Use effective classroom management strategies to foster positive behavior and maintain a safe, inclusive space for all students.
- Incorporate curriculum development techniques focused on literacy education, math skills, physical education, and sensory activities to support holistic growth.
- Engage in ongoing communication with parents and guardians about student progress, behavior management strategies, and developmental milestones.
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of children with diverse learning styles, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools when appropriate to monitor progress and inform instruction.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan interdisciplinary activities that enhance classroom learning experiences.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental assessments, and lesson plans in compliance with childcare regulations.
- Participate in professional development opportunities related to childhood development, classroom management, and innovative teaching practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, behavior management techniques, and early intervention strategies.
- Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development across multiple domains such as literacy education, math, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods or other specialized early childhood educational approaches is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with children, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Ability to manage a classroom efficiently while fostering a positive learning environment through effective classroom management skills.
- Experience working with students requiring special education accommodations or behavioral support plans is a plus.
- Certification in early childhood education or equivalent credentials required; additional training in child welfare or toddler care is advantageous.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to preschool assessment is desirable.
