Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pre-K Teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, experience with curriculum development, and a genuine enthusiasm for fostering children's growth and development. This role involves planning and implementing age-appropriate activities, managing classroom behavior, and supporting children's social, emotional, and cognitive skills to prepare them for future academic success.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective behavior management strategies, promoting positive social interactions among children.
- Assess individual student progress through observations and standardized testing; adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to discuss student progress, share developmental milestones, and address any concerns related to child welfare or special education needs.
- Incorporate curriculum development techniques tailored to toddlers and preschool-aged children, including early intervention strategies when necessary.
- Facilitate activities that promote childhood development across various domains such as cognitive, social-emotional, physical, and language skills.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessments, and lesson plans while ensuring compliance with childcare regulations.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in early childhood education and classroom management.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early intervention techniques.
- Experience with curriculum development across preschool subjects including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Proven classroom management skills with the ability to foster a positive learning environment.
- Experience working with children in daycare or private school settings; familiarity with toddler care is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with children, parents, colleagues, and administration.
- Ability to adapt lesson plans for diverse learners including those requiring special education support.
- Skills in behavior management techniques to promote respectful classroom behavior.
- Knowledge of standardized testing procedures relevant to early childhood assessment.
- Experience in tutoring or teaching physical education is a plus.
