Duties

  • Develop and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards to support literacy, math, physical education, and social skills.
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that encourage cooperation and respect.
  • Utilize specialized techniques such as Montessori methods or early intervention strategies to support diverse learning needs, including children with special education requirements.
  • Conduct assessments and utilize standardized testing to monitor student progress, adjusting instruction to meet individual learning goals.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to support each child's welfare, including toddler care and early childhood development milestones.
  • Manage classroom routines efficiently, ensuring safety protocols are followed and that the environment promotes active learning and child welfare.
  • Incorporate literacy education and tutoring techniques to enhance language skills and foster a love for reading among preschoolers.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices.
  • Proven experience in classroom management, lesson planning, and working with young children in daycare or preschool settings.
  • Expertise in curriculum development across multiple domains such as math, literacy, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
  • Ability to work effectively with children of varying abilities, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with students, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
  • Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment tools used in preschool environments.
