</b></p><p> To provide an educational environment in which Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) students succeed academically, socially, and physically in accordance with system philosophy, goals and objectives.
</p><p> To implement an effective educational program for Pre-K students using the designated course of study, appropriate materials and resources, and best instructional practices.
</p><p> To serve as a student advocate, role model, and professional resource for parents, the community, and the school system.<br>
</p><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:
</b></p><p>1. Bachelor&rsquo;s degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
</p><p>2. Valid Alabama teaching certificate in Early Childhood Education or other appropriate field.
</p><p>3. Ability to meet suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
</p><p>4. Demonstrated proficiency in oral and written communication skills.

</b></p><p>1. Demonstrates support for the school system and its vision, goals and priorities.
</p><p>2. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of child development and especially of characteristics of Pre-Kindergarten students.
</p><p>3. Demonstrates knowledge of the prescribed curriculum, current educational research and best instructional practices.
</p><p>4. Demonstrates knowledge of learning styles and skill in using varied teaching methods to address student learning styles.
</p><p>5. Assesses and provides appropriate instruction and modifications based on needs, attending to special interests, strengths, concerns and students with special needs, including exceptional education students and students who have limited proficiency in English.
</p><p>6. Defines goals and objectives for age-appropriate long-range curriculum plans and daily lesson plans based on a review of system and state curriculum priorities, student profiles and instructional priorities, and revises plans based on student needs.
</p><p>7. Plans and prepares a variety of learning activities with age-appropriate materials considering individual student&rsquo;s culture, learning styles, special needs and socio-economic background, and foster active involvement of students in the learning process.
</p><p>8. Plans and prepares lessons and instructional strategies which support the school improvement plan and the system mission.
</p><p>9. Develops and uses assessment strategies (traditional, alternative, and on-going) to assist the continuous development of learners, to monitor student progress, to verify that learning is occurring, and to adjust curriculum and instruction.
</p><p>10. Utilizes technology to plan and provide instruction and facilitate student learning.
</p><p>11. Models appropriate and innovative use of technology for students.
</p><p>12. Facilitates and monitors the integration of technology in the classroom.
</p><p>13. Utilizes district provided software to support student learning.
</p><p>14. Maintains appropriate student supervision so that students have a safe and orderly environment in which to learn and effectively supervises students in the care, maintenance, and use of tools, equipment, and inventory.

</p><p>16. Establishes and uses behavior management techniques which are appropriate and effective.

</p><p>18. Documents baselines, on-going assessments in CC GOLD according to district benchmarks.
</p><p>19. Documents parent contact for Office of School Readiness and/or district office.
</p><p>20. Conducts required parent/teacher conferences for the purpose of assessment and support and to share information on classroom progress and educational strategies at school and home.
</p><p>21. Provides accurate and timely information to parents and students about academic and behavioral performance of students.
</p><p>22. Works effectively and collaboratively with peers, parents, administrators, and other school system staff to maximize student achievement.
</p><p>23. Serves on school/system committees, task forces, planning teams, and advisory groups as required.
</p><p>24. Communicates effectively, orally and in writing, with other professionals, students, parents and community.
</p><p>25. Engages in continuing improvement of professional knowledge and skills and demonstrates professional ethics, sound judgment and leadership.
</p><p>27. Collects, receipts and submits school funds in accordance with school procedures and Board policy.
</p><p>26. Participates in state-approved evaluation program as required.
</p><p>27. Attends staff development programs, workshops, and conferences to improve professional performance and knowledge as requested.
</p><p>28. Participates in administration of state and/or standardized testing as assigned; establishes appropriate testing environment and ensures test security.
</p><p>29. Performs duties in a courteous and professional manner.
</p><p>30. Maintains appropriate confidentiality regarding /student/school/workplace matters.
</p><p>31. Demonstrates initiative in identifying potential problems and/or opportunities for improvement in areas of responsibility.
</p><p>32. Reports potential problems, unusual events, or work irregularities to appropriate administrative or supervisory personnel.
</p><p>33. Responds to inquiries, requests, constructive feedback, concerns and/or complaints in a timely and positive manner.

</p><p></p><p><b>Terms of Employment </b>: Nine-month position in accordance with the Board&rsquo;s salary schedule.
</p><p><b>Evaluation: </b>Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the State Department of Education and/or Baldwin County Board of Education policy on evaluation of certified personnel.
