Pre-Litigation Attorney

A high-profile, AV-rated law firm in Houston seeks a pre-litigation attorney to manage our pre-litigation department. The right candidate will serve an integral role on a team helping individuals and families who have experienced catastrophic losses caused by defective consumer products and corporate wrongdoing. The ideal candidate will be adept at working with others, highly organized, dependable, self-motivated, and possess a strong work ethic.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

· Qualify and investigate referral cases across the country;

· Work up prelitigation files from signup through negotiation/filing suit;

· Draft lawsuits, settlement brochures, and initial disclosures/discovery requests;

· Interact with clients, adjusters, staff, and other lawyers over the phone and in person;

· Attend presuit vehicle, scene, and workplace inspections; and

· Manage the prelitigation team

Work Experience & Requirements

· 3+ years handling commercial vehicle, workplace injury, and product liability personal injury cases;

· Pre-litigation case management and negotiation experience;

· Ability to lead others and delegate tasks as appropriate;

· Graduate of an ABA-accredited law school;

· Current member of the Texas Bar in good standing; and

· Strong work ethic, high intellect, and detail-oriented.

Spanish is highly preferred.

This is an in-office position that requires normal business hours.

Compensation is highly competitive.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
