We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Pre-Litigation Paralegal specializing in Personal Injury to join our dynamic legal team. <Responsibilities>
- Assist attorneys with case intake, including initial client interviews and gathering relevant documentation related to personal injury claims
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case development
- Review and organize case files utilizing document management systems such as iManage and PCLaw
- Draft and proofread legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and discovery requests with precision and clarity
- Manage deadlines and calendar appointments to ensure timely filing of documents in accordance with court requirements
- Perform thorough document review and data entry to prepare cases for litigation or settlement negotiations
- Coordinate with clients, medical providers, insurance companies, and other parties for case updates and information collection
<Skills>
- Strong knowledge of personal injury law along with familiarity in related areas such as workers' compensation law and estate planning
- Experience with legal administrative tasks including filing, document review, transcription, and proofreading
- Proficiency in legal case management software like Westlaw, LexisNexis, iManage, PCLaw, and document management systems
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Effective interviewing skills to gather detailed information from clients and witnesses
- Solid understanding of legal research techniques across various practice areas including family law, tribal law & regulations, UCC law, securities law, immigration law, landlord-tenant law, patent law, environmental law, and more
- Exceptional written communication skills for drafting clear legal documents and correspondence
- Demonstrated clerical experience including data entry, filing, phone etiquette, and administrative support functions
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while maintaining high attention to detail and confidentiality
