A pre-primary teacher's responsibilities involve creating a nurturing, safe environment, planning engaging, age-appropriate lessons (play, songs, crafts) to develop social, emotional, cognitive, and motor skills, managing the classroom, assessing student progress, and maintaining strong communication with parents, acting as a caregiver and role model to foster confidence and basic learning for children under five. Classroom & Environment
- Create a safe space: Design a stimulating, clean, and inclusive environment for learning and exploration.
- Classroom management: Establish rules, manage behavior, and facilitate positive interactions and conflict resolution.
- Provide basic needs: Supervise meals, naps, and ensure overall child well-being.
Curriculum & Teaching
- Develop & implement lessons: Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities (storytelling, games, art) for literacy, numeracy, and creativity.
- Foster development: Support holistic growth (social, emotional, physical, cognitive) and build self-esteem.
- Adapt methods: Adjust teaching for diverse learning styles (visual, auditory, kinesthetic) and individual needs.
Assessment & Communication
- Monitor progress: Observe, assess, and document each child's development and milestones.
- Parent engagement: Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, background, and any concerns.
