Pre-Operative and Post-Operative Operating Room (OR) Assistant

The Eye Care Center is one of the most well-respective comprehensive eye care facilities in the Finger Lakes Region, with offices in Canandaigua, Geneva, and Macedon. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care in a professional and friendly environment.

Our OR is seeking a reliable and compassionate Pre-Operative & Post-Operative Assistant to support our surgical team and ensure a smooth patient experience before and after procedures. This role is essential in maintaining patient safety, comfort, and efficient clinical operations

Pre-Operative Duties:

• Prepare patients for surgery, including verifying identity, procedure, and consent forms
• Take and record vital signs and medical history as directed
• Assist with patient positioning and transport to the operating room
• Ensure surgical areas and supplies are properly prepared and stocked
• Maintain a clean and organized pre-op area

Post-Operative Duties:

• Assist patients during recovery, monitoring comfort and basic condition
• Take and record post-operative vital signs
• Support nursing staff with patient care and discharge preparation
• Provide patients with post-op care instructions as directed
• Transport patients safely from recovery to discharge areas

General Duties:

• Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety protocols
• Clean and restock surgical and recovery areas
• Assist surgical team members as needed
• Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and facility policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (required)
• Previous healthcare, surgical, or patient care experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
