Salary: Competitive pay ranging from $50,000 – $55,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
Job Summary
This role will support the prepress department by preparing digital files for proofing and printing. This individual should assist in ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with printing specifications. This position is ideal for someone with good organizational skills, a strong eye for detail and thorough understanding of printing processes or Illustrator.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and prepare customer-supplied artwork and files for digital printing, making necessary adjustments for color, resolution, bleeds, plating and embellishments.
- Use Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) to edit and optimize designs for production.
- Perform preflight checks, proofreading, and quality assurance to identify and correct errors before printing.
- Collaborate with designers, production and account management teams, and clients to ensure files meet specifications and deadlines.
- Assist in creating print-ready plates, imposing layouts, and preparing files for output.
- Maintain and organize all client digital files and assets for efficient workflow.
- Support prepress tasks as needed (i.e. Basic retouching, file conversions and typesetting. )
Qualifications and Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Graphic Design (not required), Printing Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience, degree not required).
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign; knowledge of Acrobat and prepress software (e.g., HP Print OS Production Pro) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of prepress processes, color management (CMYK/Pantone), and printing techniques (digital preferred).
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Entry-level experience (2-5 years) in graphic design or prepress is preferred but not required; internships or relevant coursework will be considered.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and stand for extended periods if needed for production support.
