Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Pretrial case managers for Community Corrections are responsible for assessing and screening individuals booked into the Boone County jail upon arrest and supervising them upon their release.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Assess individuals utilizing the IRAS-PAT to determine risk and supervision level upon arrest. Utilize other assessment tools deemed necessary in accordance with the individual’s particular needs or the nature of the crime (i.e.: domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health). Preparation of reports to provide the supervising court with vital information to determine appropriate supervision level if released. Supervision of clients released on pretrial supervision based on supervision level, including but not limited to monthly criminal/new arrests checks, urine drug screens, referral of participants to programs based on the assessed needs that use evidence-based practices (if deemed necessary). Models’ pro-social behavior and uses evidence-based methods of communication and interaction with offenders. Monitors participant compliance. Files reports of non-compliance with the supervising court and prosecutor. Maintains current and accurate case files and enters IRAS and other documentation promptly. Serves as liaison between participants and service providers, including explaining program policies, answering questions, and resolving problems. Searches participants for contraband according to prescribed procedures, and tests for illegal drugs and alcohol, including collecting urine samples and operating Alco sensor. Attends all required training, obtains certifications, and teaches program classes as directed. Periodically performs duties of other department personnel in their absence or as needed and maintains a working knowledge of the procedures of each program component. Maintains current knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal rules/regulations, new developments, technology, and trends in the field of community corrections by reading professional publications and periodically attending training/seminars/conferences. Serves 24-hour call for emergencies (TBD upon completion of program matrix and protocol). Performs related duties as assigned.

PERSONAL WORK RELATIONSHIPS: Pretrial Case Manager has frequent communication with co-workers, other County departments, program participants and their families, social service providers, and employers, for purposes of exchanging information, explaining policies and procedures, and providing supervision and counseling. Pretrial Case Manager reports directly to the Assistant Director.
