Prep Cook

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of food safety standards. This role offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills in a fast-paced environment, supporting our kitchen operations and ensuring high-quality meal service. Experience in dietary departments, food handling, or restaurant settings is highly valued. The Prep Cook will play a vital role in assisting with menu planning, meal preparation, and maintaining cleanliness and organization within the kitchen.

Duties

• Prepare ingredients and components for daily menu items, following standardized recipes and portion sizes
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and assembling dishes
• Support the cooking process by executing basic cooking techniques under supervision
• Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation standards
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
• Assist with inventory management by organizing supplies and notifying management of stock needs
• Support catering events and special meal requests as needed
• Follow proper knife skills for efficient and safe food prep
• Help with meal plating and presentation to ensure appealing dishes for service

Experience

• Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or catering environments is preferred
• Familiarity with menu planning, food safety protocols, and kitchen equipment operation is desirable
• Culinary experience including knife skills, food preparation, and cooking techniques is highly beneficial
• Experience in the food industry or food handling roles will support success in this position
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
