Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring to ensure readiness for cooking and plating
• Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling salads, sandwiches, and side dishes according to recipes and standards
• Support the cooking process by following instructions from chefs or kitchen managers to ensure timely meal service
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, including sanitizing surfaces and properly storing ingredients
• Handle food safely by adhering to proper food handling protocols and safety regulations
• Assist with menu planning and portioning to support efficient meal production during busy service times
• Support catering events or special functions by preparing bulk ingredients or assembling plated dishes as needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
• Experience working in food service, restaurant, or food industry environments demonstrating strong kitchen skills
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Proficiency in knife skills, meal preparation, and basic cooking techniques
• Familiarity with menu planning and food presentation standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting kitchen operations
