Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of ingredients for daily menu items, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to prepare meals efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, adhering to food safety standards.
- Utilize proper knife skills for chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients as required.
- Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation.
- Assist in menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
- Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and report any shortages to management.
- Participate in training sessions related to food handling and safety practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a culinary or dietary department is preferred but not required.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools, including knives and cooking appliances.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
