Job Overview
Oversee daily production activities on the shop floor. In this role, you will guide a team of production workers, enforce quality and safety standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to meet output goals. The Prep Lead is also responsible for reviewing all the material being pulled for a job and to make any adjustments as needed and/or inform the production planner of any changes that may affect the inventory levels.
Duties
Production & Operations
· Oversee daily production activities to meet output, quality, and safety targets
· Monitor workflow and adjust staffing or resources to maintain efficiency
· Operate and troubleshoot production equipment as needed
· Ensure adherence to production schedules and deadlines
Team Leadership
· Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of production workers
· Assign tasks and delegate responsibilities based on skill and workload
· Conduct on-the-job training for new and existing employees
· Serve as the first point of escalation for team issues or conflicts
Quality & Compliance
· Enforce quality standards and inspect products at key production stages
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies
· Lead or participate in root cause analysis and corrective action processes
· Maintain accurate production records and documentation
Communication & Coordination
· Communicate shift updates and production status to supervisors and management
· Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and quality departments
· Lead daily shift huddles or toolbox meetings
Cross‑Functional Support
· Collaborate with purchasing, production, and quality teams to resolve material issues
· Assist with workflow improvements related to inventory, staging, and material flow
· Maintain accurate documentation and follow established procedures
Safety & Organization
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
· Follow all safety guidelines, including proper handling of materials and equipment
· Report hazards, damaged materials, or unsafe conditions
Competencies
Requirements
· 5 plus years working in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience in inventory control, materials handling, or production support preferred
· Supervisory/Lead experience preferred
Education Requirements
· High school diploma or GED
· Any type of training in warehouse or inventory management is preferred
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
