Prepress Coordinator

• Inspect incoming digital files for font issues, image resolution, transparency flattening, and color space.
• Calibrate machine; perform color corrections and trapping to ensure brand consistency.
• Send verified files to Computer-to-Plate systems or digital presses.
• Monitor the "back-end" processing—managing developer temperatures, wash-out speeds, and finishing cycles to ensure plate durability.
• Relay technical limitations back to Sales.
• Use digital microscopes to verify dot percentages and plate depth.
• Track raw plate stock to ensure no downtime in the production cycle.
• Communicate with the Production Manager to arrange queues based on urgency.

Qualifications:

• Advanced knowledge of Raster Image Processors (RIP) like Esko Automation Engine, Kodak Prinergy, or Global Graphics Harlequin.
• Knowledge of plate stepping, distortion, and mounting tape compensation.
• Experience with prepress workflow software.
• Deep understanding of offset, digital, and/or flexographic printing processes.
• Ability to calculate measurements, scales, and paper weights quickly.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communications, Print Management, or a related field.
• 1- 3 years of equivalent hands-on experience
