The Goddard School of Land O' Lakes
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
The Goddard School is seeking an experienced preschool professional who can support both the administrative and classroom operations of our school. This position is ideal for someone with previous preschool teaching experience who understands Florida licensing requirements, classroom ratios, health and safety standards, and enjoys working with children, families, and staff.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor classrooms throughout the day to ensure proper supervision and active engagement
- Ensure classrooms remain in ratio at all times
- Support teachers by providing classroom breaks and coverage as needed
- Assist with classroom transitions, combining groups, and end-of-day staffing arrangements while maintaining ratio requirements
- Monitor afternoon staffing and classroom combinations after 4:00 PM
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Assist with parent communication and professionally address parent concerns
- Ensure all incident and accident reports are completed and signed by parents before the end of each day
- Observe classroom operations and communicate concerns, trends, and opportunities for improvement to school leadership
- Communicate staffing concerns, policy violations, and classroom issues to school leadership
- Support school events, water days, celebrations, and special activities
- Assist with snack preparation, food distribution, pizza days, and special lunch programs
- Monitor kitchen inventory, snacks, and supplies, and communicate ordering needs to management
- Support Directors with administrative tasks, organization, and daily school operations
- Ensure staff are following school policies, schedules, and expectations
- Maintain a professional balance between supporting teachers and holding them accountable to school standards
- Follow up on incident reports, accident reports, and required documentation before the end of each day.
- Understand compliance with Florida DCF regulations, licensing requirements, and classroom ratios
- Assist with maintaining health and safety standards throughout the building
- Support classroom teachers during busy periods while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality
- Help create a positive, organized, and efficient school environment
- Serve as the primary office support team member during afternoon and evening hours
- Report supply, inventory, staffing, and facility concerns to school leadership
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed preschool or childcare setting
- Knowledge of Florida DCF licensing regulations and classroom ratios
- Experience working with children from Infants through Pre-K
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional when handling parent concerns
- Comfortable working both in classrooms and in an administrative role
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred
- DCF training completed or ability to complete upon hire
Reporting Structure:
- Reports directly to the Director of Operations and the Director of Education
- Supports the daily needs of children, families, and staff
- Assists leadership in maintaining school standards, compliance, and daily operations

Pay: $18.25 - $21.00 per hour
