One Hope Tulsa is dedicated to creating flourishing neighborhoods where relationships build resilience and hope changes outcomes.

One of the biggest ways we serve our neighborhood is through an afterschool program for kids. Many kids in the neighborhoods around the Rose Bowl need access to fun, engaging, and safe activities to develop personally and academically.

This is where our leaders come in.

One Hope leaders are safe adults who love Jesus and our community. You will learn about trauma-responsive practices and implement them for their students. You will help teach a play-based preschool class, with opportunity to also lead an after-school class in fun activities, STEAM and SEL games and exercises, reading times and more!

Core Responsibilities:

  • Completing training before the program begins and throughout the program as directed
  • Create a fun, safe, and supportive classroom environment
  • Leading students through the day’s activities, including a Bible or SEL Lesson
  • Serving as a connector who helps students develop healthy relationships with each other, with positive peers, with their families, and with trusted adults
  • Managing classroom disruptions in a trauma-responsive way
  • Attending to students’ needs throughout the day
  • Following the direction of the Admin Team and communicating with them consistently, clearly, and promptly about any issues or concerns
  • Helping clean the classroom and building at day’s end for the next day
  • Attending scheduled meetings prior to program start
  • Attending scheduled debrief meetings
  • Attending special events
  • Performing other tasks for kids programs as needed

Qualifications:

  • Embraces One Hope’s values and approach
  • Works well on teams
  • Has experience working with children
  • Has a passion for sharing hope with our neighborhood
  • Willing to be trained in and implement trauma-responsive practices
  • Accepts constructive feedback and implements changes
  • Must pass a background check and go through child safety training

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
