Preschool Teacher Assistant

Come join our family at Zion Covenant Preschool located in Jamestown, NY! We are excited to welcome a Preschool Teacher Assistant every Monday through Friday. No Holidays or weekends. The teacher assistant will be working alongside the lead teacher with children ages 4-5. The right candidate will be a good team player and offer support to the lead teacher to administer lesson plans. This person must have a great love and patience for children!

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required. 2 years experience with children is required. CDA or Associates in Early Childhood preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with carrying out lesson plans for children 4-5 years of age
• Observe children to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
• Encourage children to interact with each other
• Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities
• Follow direction as assigned by the lead teacher
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards

Skills

• Basic understanding of the principles of child development and preschool educational methods
• Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms
• Ability to act as mediator between children
• Cool-tempered, friendly, organized, and reliable

Pay: $16.25 - $17.50 per hour
