Duties

  • Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate art lessons that align with early childhood education standards
  • Support children during art activities by providing guidance, encouragement, and supervision to ensure a safe and inclusive environment
  • Help set up art stations with supplies such as paints, crayons, paper, sewing materials, and other creative tools
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere through effective behavior management and nurturing interactions
  • Encourage children’s individual expression through various artistic mediums including painting, drawing, sewing, and crafting
  • Capture moments of children's creativity through photography to document their progress and celebrate their achievements
  • Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning that integrates arts with other subjects like theater, dance (ballet/dancing), cooking, or culinary experiences to enrich learning experiences

Experience

  • Prior experience working with preschool or early childhood education is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in classroom management and behavior guidance in a childcare or educational setting
  • Knowledge of curriculum development tailored for young children’s developmental stages
  • Experience in tutoring or teaching arts-related activities such as sewing, painting, or theater is advantageous
  • Background in special education or working with children with diverse learning needs is a plus
  • Familiarity with childhood development principles and early learning standards
  • Skills in photography, ballet, dancing, cooking, culinary arts, sewing or theater will enhance your ability to create engaging lessons and activities for young learners
