Preschool Assistant Director

Responsible mainly for supporting the Director in managing the staff providing support in the guidance of the children and curriculum development.

Looking for a kind, patient, nurturing problem solver who is reliable, energetic, a strong leader, effective communicator with families and staff. Must be organized and detail oriented, trustworthy and flexible.

Responsibilities range from but are not limited to:

· Ensures the program is in compliance with DCF regulations, the center policies and procedures

· Mentor new teachers to assure they are properly trained and acclimated

· Interacting with families

· Monitor appropriate curriculum implementation. Assess and update curriculum if needed.

· Support staff in handling and dealing with student behavior problems in the classroom. Attend meetings with parents if necessary.

· Supervise the compilation of and check portfolios.

· Observe and assist regularly in the classrooms.

· Work closely with Director in supervision of all staff and inform the Director of a pertinent situations/concerns/joys

· Oversee and maintain teacher resources.

· Maintain monthly SR and VPK Attendance. Ensure signatures are collected, and inputted into the State Wide Portal.

· Assist in facilitating special events.

Qualifications:

· 45 DCF Training Hours

· CPR & First Aid

· Current CDA or Degree in Early Childhood Education

· Director Credential desirable

· Minimum Two Years of Experience in Preschool Setting.

· Strong knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum and techniques

· Ability to relate joyfully and sensitively to children.

· Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build strong and positive relationships with staff and parents.

· Enthusiastic and outgoing personality, exhibiting energy and leadership.

· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize responsibilities.

· Ability to problem solve in a variety of programming, staff and parent situations.

· Strong and Confident with technology and computer skills.

· Knowledge of Microsoft office, ProCare, and Social Media Platforms.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
