Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our educational team for the 26-27 school year. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in the development of our students, guiding them through their early learning experiences while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Duties:
- Create a stimulating and challenging environment for students.
- Maintain materials and environment for positive learning conducive to age appropriate learning benchmarks. Produce weekly, written lesson plans and make available to the Director.
- Build trusting/nurturing relationships with both parents and children.
- Confer with other staff to coordinate quiet time activities and outdoor play.
- Work with Head Teachers to assign duties.
- Attend ice cream social and fundraisers with no additional compensation.
- Work with designated Room Parent(s) to arrange class parties, activities and events.
- Attend monthly staff meetings and required medical training as communicated by Director.
- Conduct parent/teacher conferences twice during the school year; November and April. Prepare relevant documentation.
- Acknowledge birthday celebrations in the classroom. Encourage parent(s) to bring a treat and read a story. Display birthday book donations on the hallway bulletin board.
- Schedule field trips for class throughout the year. Write and distribute notes to parents regarding field trips. Prepare thank you notes to field trip locations.
- Create and/or assist to create and post daily in photo app to keep parents informed
Qualifications
- Experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of child welfare practices and special education principles is a plus.
- Familiarity with curriculum development and tutoring strategies for young learners.
- Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting a respectful environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
- A genuine passion for teaching and nurturing young minds in a private school setting.
- Relevant certifications or degrees in Early Childhood Education or related fields are highly desirable.

9:00-12:00 p.m., with 1 hour for prep/clean-up (Total Hours: 4.0hrs/day/ 20hrs/week) with additional pay for Extended Day programs. Year runs September-June.

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
