Assistant Teacher (Toddlers)

Location: Chicago, IL (Wicker Park/Bucktown area)

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday between 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM (flexible shifts)

About the Role

We’re looking for a warm, energetic Assistant Teacher who genuinely loves working with toddlers. This role is perfect for someone who understands the unique needs of ages 1–3 and enjoys helping little ones grow their independence, communication, and social skills in a safe, nurturing environment.

You’ll partner closely with the Lead Teacher to create a structured but fun classroom where toddlers can explore, learn, and thrive.

What You’ll Do

• Support daily classroom routines including play, meals, nap time, and transitions

• Build strong, positive relationships with toddlers through patience, consistency, and care

• Assist with age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development

• Help maintain a clean, safe, and engaging classroom environment

• Communicate effectively with team members and provide a welcoming experience for parents

• Supervise children closely to ensure safety at all times

• Step in where needed to support other classrooms as part of a team-focused environment

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with toddlers (ages 1–3) required

• Passion for early childhood education and child development

• Patient, positive, and reliable with a strong work ethic

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to stay engaged, active, and attentive throughout the day

• Meets or is working toward Illinois DCFS Assistant Teacher requirements
