Job Summary:

The Preschool Counselor plays a vital role in supporting the emotional, social, and behavioral development of young children. The role involves working closely with teachers, parents, and administrators to create a nurturing and positive environment where every child feels safe, valued, and confident to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

Child Support & Guidance:

  • Observe children’s behavior and identify emotional, social, or developmental concerns.
  • Provide age-appropriate counseling sessions to help children manage emotions, build confidence, and develop positive relationships.
  • Guide children through transitions, such as separation anxiety or classroom changes.

Parent Communication & Support:

  • Conduct regular meetings or workshops with parents to discuss their child’s emotional and behavioral progress.
  • Offer guidance to parents on positive discipline, communication, and parenting strategies.

Teacher Collaboration:

  • Partner with teachers to identify children who need additional emotional or social support.
  • Provide strategies for classroom management and inclusive behavior practices.
  • Conduct training sessions for teachers on handling children’s emotions and behavior effectively.

Program Development:

  • Develop and implement activities that promote emotional intelligence, empathy, and mindfulness.
  • Help create a positive school culture through events, workshops, and awareness programs.

Record Keeping & Reporting:

  • Maintain confidential counseling records and progress reports.
  • Prepare documentation and reports for review by the Center Head as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Child Development, or Counseling.
  • Prior experience in early childhood education or school counseling preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathetic, patient, and approachable personality.
  • Ability to connect with young children and create a positive, trusting environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
