Spring Hollow Early Learning Center is searching for a full-time Director beginning in the Summer of 2026. This is a 12-month salaried position.
The candidate’s philosophy of early childhood must align with the Reggio-Emilia approach of Spring Hollow Early Learning Center, supporting child-led emergent curriculum, social-emotional learning, artistic expression, and extensive outdoor play, as well as encouraging a community of joy and collaboration.
Our small non-profit school requires a director who is passionate, hard working, committed, creative, and thrives in a collaborative environment. The director will work closely alongside the two classroom teachers, an assistant teacher, the Board of Directors, as well as the 40 families.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Is professionally prepared as a teacher of young children, especially in the field of early childhood education or development; meeting the licensing requirements of the Department of Human Services
- Has at least a bachelor’s degree in the field of early childhood education, child development, or a related field
- Has experience in educational administration
- Has a minimum of 3 years experience in the field of early childhood
- Is a sensitive, mature individual who relates well to children and adults
- Has basic computer skills and can manage accounting responsibilities
- Has completed training courses as required by DHS or will do so within the required time frame

Operational Responsibilities:
- Oversees school year and summer camp programs and enrollment
- Maintains all staff and children’s files
- Maintains licensing standards as required by the Department of Human Services
- Is responsible for basic accounting, as well as communicating with Treasurer regarding finances
- Attends regularly scheduled School Board meetings, provides program reports and agenda
- Coordinates needed environmental upkeep; includes scheduling repairs and routine services, educational equipment, and safety issues
- Orders and purchases supplies, in collaboration with the teachers
Teacher Support:
- Works with all staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere
- Facilitates weekly staff meetings
- Provides opportunities for teacher trainings, conferences, workshops and work days
- Collaborates with the teachers in the assessment of each child’s growth and development
- Collaborates with the teachers in the reflection, structure and achievement of Spring Hollow’s goals in the classroom
- Serves as a classroom teacher at least 30% of the time (includes arrival, dismissal, lunch, third teacher or substitute as needed)
Collaboration with Families:
- Coordinates the planning of and attends scheduled events listed on the school calendar
- Participates in Parent/Teacher Conferences, any scheduled meetings, and regular email communication
- Participates in daily arrival and dismissal procedures; greets parents and children with joy
- Assists in promoting parents’ understanding of their child’s growth and development
Promotes the Program:
- Schedules and hosts school tours
- Works with the Board to plan and implement marketing and fundraising as needed
- Communicates with Alumni families to maintain connections
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
