The Adaptive Learning Center (ALC) is seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Inclusion Consultant to support our partnering early learning centers. This position typically operates Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM (hours may vary). Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree and have three or more years of direct teaching experience working with young children with special needs. Experience with ASD and/or ABA is strongly preferred.

The current opening includes service at the following locations:

  • Andrew & Walter Young Family YMCA Early Learning Center (2220 Campbellton Rd SW, Atlanta, GA 30311) on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays
  • Woodson Park YMCA Early Learning Center (1571 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy, Atlanta, GA 30318) on Tuesdays and Thursdays

About the Inclusion Consultant Model

The Inclusion Consultant (IC) model is designed to enhance access to evidence-based educational, behavioral, and classroom management strategies for both teachers and children. This model reflects the mission and professional standards of The Adaptive Learning Center and its partnering organizations.

Inclusion Consultants follow a caseload model, typically serving 1–5 children, identified in collaboration with partnering sites. The IC provides ongoing training, coaching, and support to classroom teachers and staff to ensure consistent, collaborative care for children receiving services.

Key Responsibilities

The Inclusion Consultant will:

  • Conduct Brigance Screenings for all preschool students (training provided)
  • Record and maintain student information and Brigance scores
  • Re-screen students who did not pass the initial assessment and establish preliminary caseloads
  • Provide ongoing classroom observations and collaborate with teachers, parents, and therapists to determine and prioritize child needs
  • Develop individualized Inclusion Plans with targeted goals and objectives
  • Partner with parents, therapists, teachers, and other professionals to ensure implementation and generalization of goals
  • Support teachers in documenting progress and assist in refining goals and objectives as mastery occurs
  • Prepare and send weekly individualized progress notes for each child on the caseload
  • Schedule and facilitate initial team meetings with parents, teachers, and relevant staff
  • Participate in fall and spring inclusion meetings (biannual) with families and interdisciplinary teams
  • Deliver hands-on training and interventions to teachers to promote skill-building and increase student participation
  • Consult with teachers to adapt classroom activities, materials, and curriculum to support individual learning needs
  • Model and encourage appropriate behavioral and social strategies with identified children, peers, and teachers
  • Assist families with transitions to community programs or school settings, ensuring continuity of educational and therapeutic services

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: From $34.00 per hour

Expected hours: 25 per week
