Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Preschool Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about fostering a nurturing learning environment for young children, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development. This role involves designing engaging curriculum, managing classroom activities, and collaborating with families to support each child's growth. The Preschool Lead Teacher will play a vital role in creating a positive and stimulating atmosphere that encourages curiosity and lifelong learning.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Plan and execute daily lesson plans that promote active learning and developmental milestones for preschool-aged children.
- Manage classroom activities to ensure a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children of diverse backgrounds.
- Utilize effective behavior management strategies to foster positive social interactions and emotional regulation among students.
- Assess individual student progress through observations, standardized testing, and documentation; adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate student progress, address concerns, and support home-based learning initiatives.
- Supervise classroom assistants and volunteers to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain compliance with childcare regulations, safety protocols, and licensing requirements.
- Incorporate specialized knowledge such as special education techniques, early intervention strategies, and tutoring when appropriate to support diverse learner needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Must have experience teaching in an early childhood setting.
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings; prior classroom management experience is essential.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and curriculum development.
- Experience with special education, early intervention programs, literacy education, math instruction, and maintaining a daily routine.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, staff, and community partners.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate physical activity, arts integration, and cognitive skill-building activities like reading readiness and numeracy skills.
- Familiarity with child welfare practices and maintaining a safe classroom environment in compliance with licensing standards.
