The Preschool Teacher of Central Lutheran Church Child Care Center is responsible for running the Preschool classroom and contributing to the overall success of the Child Care Center, supporting the Center program and working with the Executive Director to implement and maintain the strategic direction of the organization. The Preschool Teacher will be expected to assist in the planning, supervising, and implementation of the preschool program for child care in accordance with the policies and philosophies of the Central Lutheran Church Child Care Center, State of Minnesota, Department of Human Services Rule 3, Minnesota Department of Education, CACFP and Minnesota Department of Health in the best interests of the children and the Child Care Center.

Position Requirements

• Education/Experience: The incumbent of this position must have a high school diploma or GED. Possesses a minimum Child Development Associate credential. A secondary education with a focus on early childhood education, child development, education or a related field is desirable.
• Skills: Desire strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. This individual should have the ability to supervise and train others, and to work constructively with people of all ages, both in group or one-to-one settings. Knowledge of child development, active supervision and conscious discipline is desired.
• Personal: This individual must be self-motivated, able to adapt to fast changes in the flow of a classroom, and be a team player with a positive attitude. This individual should be capable of working alone or with large and small groups; must be willing to evaluate conflict situations and recommend/implement corrective action. This individual must successfully complete the State of Minnesota Background Check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.50 - $17.50 per hour
