Preschool Lead Teacher

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, including literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
• Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that promotes curiosity, independence, and positive behavior management strategies.
• Foster strong relationships with children to support their social-emotional well-being and address individual needs through early intervention techniques and special education strategies when necessary.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children’s progress, developmental milestones, and any behavioral or learning concerns.
• Manage classroom activities efficiently, ensuring safety protocols are followed and maintaining high standards of childcare and classroom management.
• Incorporate standardized testing and assessment tools to monitor developmental progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
• Lead activities that promote childhood development across cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and language domains while supporting inclusive practices for diverse learners.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in preschool and childcare settings, with a strong background in early childhood education.
• Demonstrated expertise in HighScope curriculum, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
• Knowledge of literacy education best practices.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
• Ability to implement classroom activities that support childhood development milestones.
• Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable; state licensing requirements must be met where applicable.
