JOB DESCRIPTION

The Preschool/Pre-K position exists to provide exceptional Christian education, play, and developmental opportunities for our growing program.

ROLE SUMMARY

This position is a key component in growing and educating each child while monitoring classroom activity, preparing lessons for class, and maintaining safety and security measures. Our program consists of a 2-day class, a 3-day class, and a 5-day class. Each day is divided into 2, 3 hour school days.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lesson planning with curriculum guidelines and monthly themes

- Field trip planning

- Communication with the aids

- Classroom party planning

- Parent communication and monthly newsletters

- Chapel and Jesus time planning

- Effective classroom management

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS

- Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Development or Elementary Education with a minimum of two years of experience as a lead teacher in a classroom

- A heart for working with children, our school, and a passion to engage with our church and

school members

- Good interpersonal skills with children and parents

- Ability to multitask

- Basic technology skills

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday: 7:30am-3:30pm

AVERAGE HOURS/WEEK: 40

COMPENSATION: Compensation and benefits will be based on education, experience, licensure, and qualifications

STATUS: Full-time

LOCATION: Trinity Lutheran Church, Crown Point, IN

REPORTS TO: Director of Preschool and Before/After Care
