Responsibilities

• Design and implement developmentally appropriate, academic/play-based lesson plans that inspire curiosity, independence, and confidence.
• Create a warm, stimulating, and welcoming classroom environment where every child feels seen, loved, and safe.
• Lead daily classroom activities, utilizing creative spaces and unique hands-on experiences like our school garden to teach children about the world around them.
• Foster strong social-emotional growth and guide positive behavior management strategies with patience and support.
• Build meaningful relationships and maintain open, collaborative communication with parents and local families.
• Manage daily classroom routines smoothly while ensuring full compliance with California childcare standards and daycare regulations.
• Provide thoughtful care and attention to the individual milestone development of each child, celebrating their personal achievements.

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in a preschool or licensed childcare center environment.
• Strong understanding of early childhood development, play-based learning methodologies, and positive classroom management practices.
• Passion for instilling strong moral values, confidence, and a collaborative spirit in young explorers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to seamlessly connect with children, parents, and fellow staff members.
• Childcare License & Certifications: Must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for a Lead Teacher (ECE units/credits). Current CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain them) are required. Must be able to pass the standard California Background check.
• Ability to physically engage with active children, managing outdoor play, garden activities, and classroom routines with energy and enthusiasm.

This position is from 8:30 AM-1:00 PM, Monday through Friday onsite.

Pay: From $17.00 per hour
