Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead Pre-K Teacher to lead a classroom of children ages 3-5 years old. The Lead Teacher will create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, maintain a positive classroom culture, and support each child's social, emotional, physical, and academic growth.

This position includes support from an Assistant Teacher and offers opportunities for professional development and leadership growth.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement engaging daily lessons and activities
• Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment
• Foster positive relationships with children and families
• Utilize positive behavior guidance techniques
• Observe and document children's development and progress
• Maintain compliance with NC childcare licensing requirements
• Collaborate with administration and fellow teachers
• Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities
• Support outdoor learning, gardening, and hands-on educational experiences

QualificationsRequired

• Associate Degree (A.A.) in Early Childhood Education or related field
• EDU 119
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
• Ability to pass all NC DCDEE background and employment requirements
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Experience leading a Pre-K classroom

Preferred

• Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Conscious Discipline training or experience
• Experience with nature-based or experiential learning
