Preschool Lead Teacher

Job description

St. John’s Lutheran Preschool is looking for a part-time Lead Teacher during the hours of 8am to 1pm, Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, approximately 15 hours a week. Employment to begin after August 3, 2026

Requirements:

• Prefer a minimum of 1 year experience working with children
• High School diploma or GED required
• Early Childhood Education or equivalent preferred
• Must be 18 years of age
• Ability to resolve conflicts between children
• Excellent communication and people skills
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must work well with children and have the energy and flexibility to meet the changing needs of children
• Infant and child CPR/First Aid preferred, but not required

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and follow age- appropriate lesson plans written by the Lead Teacher
• Incorporate weekly Bible stories from the Little Lambs curriculum into the classroom routine
• Set up and maintain classroom centers that engage children in dramatic play, fine motor skill development, problem-solving, and cooperative play
• Provide love and quality care for the children throughout the day to meet their emotional and physical needs
• Attend staff trainings, meetings, and programs sponsored by the preschool
• Work collaboratively with classroom assistant teacher and other staff members
• Plan and facilitate indoor and outdoor experiences appropriate to the children's developmental levels
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
