Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curricula that incorporate literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori principles to support holistic childhood development.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that encourages exploration, social interaction, and emotional growth.
- Plan and execute engaging lesson plans tailored to the developmental needs of 2-3-year-olds, integrating early intervention strategies when necessary.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management techniques that promote respect and cooperation.
- Collaborate with families to communicate children’s progress, milestones, and any special education or childcare needs.
- Conduct ongoing assessments aligned with standardized testing where applicable to monitor developmental progress and inform instruction.
- Maintain detailed records of daily activities, child welfare concerns, and classroom management strategies to ensure compliance with licensing and accreditation standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings, especially with toddlers aged 2 to 3 years old.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories, early intervention practices, and special education strategies.
- Demonstrated ability in curriculum development, lesson planning, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, families, colleagues, and community partners.
- Familiarity with early childhood education frameworks such as Montessori or other child-centered teaching philosophies.
- Experience with literacy education, math instruction, physical education activities, and ASQ tracking is preferred.
- Certification in early childhood education or relevant childcare credentials is required.
- Prior preschool or private school experience is required.
