Preschool Lead Teacher( ages 3-6) Full Time Position.

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and energetic Preschool Lead Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. This full-time position is dedicated to guiding children aged 3 to 6 through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that foster curiosity, independence, and a love for learning. As a lead educator, you will create a nurturing classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth, literacy, math skills, and physical development, ensuring each child's unique needs are met with enthusiasm and professionalism. Your role is vital in laying the foundation for lifelong learning and child welfare.

Candidates must have 40 clock hours through DCF. This position is for the summer and 26-27 school year. Position start date will be June 1, 2026.

Benefits include paid holidays and PTO (up to 4 weeks).

Thanksgiving week off(1 week), Christmas break off(2weeks) and Spring Break(1week)-all fully paid time off.

Duties

  • Develop and implement innovative, age-appropriate curriculum plans that incorporate early childhood education principles, including Montessori methods and literacy education strategies.
  • Foster a positive classroom atmosphere by managing behavior effectively and promoting respectful interactions among children.
  • Design engaging lesson plans that integrate math, physical education, and sensory activities to support holistic development.
  • Collaborate with families to communicate children's progress, behavioral insights, and developmental milestones through regular updates and conferences.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment that adheres to childcare standards and promotes child welfare.
  • Utilize classroom management techniques to ensure smooth daily routines, transitions, and inclusive participation for all children, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
  • Conduct assessments using standardized testing tools when appropriate to monitor progress and tailor instruction accordingly.
  • Lead activities that develop motor skills, social skills, literacy skills, and emotional regulation in line with childhood development best practices.
  • Supervise assistant teachers or classroom aides to ensure high-quality instruction and effective team collaboration.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working with children aged 3-6 in a preschool or daycare setting; prior classroom management experience is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of early childhood development theories, special education needs, and behavior management techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability in curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing educational activities across various domains including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, staff, and community partners effectively.
  • Familiarity with classroom safety protocols and child welfare standards required by licensing authorities.
  • Experience working with children requiring early intervention or special education services is preferred.
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning styles and developmental levels.
  • Certification in early childhood education or related fields is highly desirable; ongoing professional development in childhood education topics is encouraged.
