Preschool Lead Teacher - Childcare

Turnquist Child Enrichment Center, a program of A Chance to Grow is a 4-Star Parent Aware, Strong Beginnings, National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Accredited Child Care Center.

We are currently looking for a Lead Teacher in our Pre-K classroom to become part of a hard-working, highly dedicated team of teachers!

Position type: Full Time

Hours: 6:30 am-3:00 pm with occasional afterschool activities.

Pay range: $19.50 - $21.10 per hour

Classroom: Preschool classroom 2-4 year olds

Location: ACTG is located in a beautiful neighborhood in Northeast Minneapolis close to public transit and freeways, downtown, retail, restaurants, and walking trails.

Description of responsibilities:

The Lead Teacher is responsible for planning individual and group classroom activities that are educational and promoting social, physical and intellectual development appropriate to each child’s pace and ability. The Lead Teacher will prepare the environment, and will nurture children's self-esteem, development of independence, and love of learning.

Experience/Education:

  • Some College credit in education, psychology, human services, art, multicultural studies or any related fields (Required)
  • Child Development Associate Credential - CDA (preferred)
  • Experience working with children with special needs (Preferred)
  • At least 1 year of experience working or volunteering as an Aide, Assistant Teacher, Teacher, or Paraprofessional in a daycare, school, or early childhood center (Required)
  • Ability to meet Rule 3 requirements for Lead Teachers ()

Skills:

  • Ability to implement high quality, interactive lesson plans
  • Ability to work well with others on the team and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of early childhood developmental milestones
