Preschool Music Teacher

We are seeking a Children's Music Teacher to join our team in Chicago!

Candidate must have a passion for playing music and educating children (ages 0-6). Excellent customer service and group facilitation skills are a must, as is the ability to work as part of a team.

Successful candidates are musical, dynamic, outgoing, theatrical and can take control of a busy room with activities and song. They must play Guitar. MUSICAL THEATRE backgrounds are a plus!

Candidates will not be afraid to sing loudly in front of a crowd and facilitate preschool classes. Applicants must take a sense of pride in your accomplishments, and seek to improve each and every day.

We take a playful and active approach to musical learning. Our aim is to nurture emerging musical expression. Lesson plans and training are provided.

Weekday availability and reliable transportation are a must. Please only apply if you live directly in or just outside of Chicago.

Responsibilities:

• Perform musical sets, classes, and lessons for children
• Interact with children in a safe and compassionate manner
• Implement creative activities to assist with child development
• Create a positive and nurturing environment for children

Qualifications:

• Previous experience with childcare or other related fields
• Musical background - Vocal and Guitar
• Passionate about working with children
• Ability to build rapport with children and their parents
• Positive and patient demeanor
• Must know how to play acoustic guitar and ukulele and/or piano
• Pleasant and tuneful singing voice
• Love of singing, music making, and teaching
• Group facilitation skills
• Experience working with young children a plus
• Ability to learn songs by ear or through music notation
• Playful and energetic teaching style
• Consistent, dependable, hard-working

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $23.50 per hour
