We are currently seeking a dedicated, energetic, and experienced Music Teacher to step into an established role supporting multiple schools within our network. This is a high-impact position ideal for someone ready to jump in quickly, ensure continuity for our students, and bring both creativity and structure to an already successful program.
Start Timeline:
We are aiming to fill this role within the next 2–3 weeks and are prioritizing candidates who are available to begin onboarding and training right away.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead engaging music classes for children ages 3 months to 5 years, with class lengths ranging from 15–30 minutes
- Available teaching hours are distributed across multiple school sites, including:
- Scotts ValleyRedwoodSan JoseWest San JosePalo AltoSanta ClaraMilpitasSunnyvale
- Manage instruction across multiple classrooms and campuses while maintaining a consistent, high-quality experience
- Plan and implement thoughtful lessons aligned with the program curriculum
- Foster a warm, supportive, and inspiring classroom environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and security in young learners
- Collaborate with the performing arts team to produce two annual shows that integrate music, dance, and theatre
- Lead musical components of performances, including rehearsals and preparation
- Demonstrate adaptability and initiative within a fast-paced, evolving schedule
- Participate in staff meetings and actively apply feedback
- Support additional program needs as directed by the Performing Arts DirectorAdditional Opportunity:
Candidates with theatre experience or interest may take on additional early childhood theatre classes. This can include leading acting, storytelling, and performance-based activities, and may result in increased weekly hours and deeper involvement in productions.
Schedule & Commitment:
- 18–23 hours per week across the locations listed above
- Schedule may include morning and/or afternoon shifts, Monday through Friday
- This role requires strong reliability, organization, and time management due to travel between sites
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2–3 years of formal music training (instrumental, vocal, theory, or musical theatre)
- Solid understanding of early childhood music education
- Ability to read and arrange sheet music for both classroom and performance use
- Familiarity with instruments such as drums, tambourines, bells, and maracas
- Strong classroom management skills, especially with young children
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between all listed locations
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1–2 years of teaching experience (early childhood strongly preferred)
- Experience preparing young children for live performances
- Background in two or more areas: music, dance, theatre
- Experience developing interdisciplinary performing arts curriculum
- ECE credentials strongly preferred
Compensation & Benefits:
- $28–$30 per hour, depending on experience
