Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, creativity, teamwork, and physical activity for school-age children.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively using positive behavior management techniques to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment.
- Supervise children during indoor activities, outdoor play, meals, rest periods, and field trips to ensure safety at all times.
- Utilize classroom management skills to organize materials, set routines, and maintain an orderly learning space.
- Provide first aid and respond appropriately to minor injuries or emergencies following safety protocols.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members to coordinate camp schedules, special events, and themed activities that enhance the summer experience.
- Support children with special education needs or behavioral challenges by implementing individualized strategies and fostering an inclusive atmosphere.
- Engage in ongoing training related to childhood development, childcare best practices, Christian counseling (if applicable), and sports coaching to enhance your teaching effectiveness.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, preschool, tutoring programs, or summer camps is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages.
- Skills in classroom management and behavior management techniques are essential for creating a positive learning environment.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is strongly recommended; ongoing training is provided if needed.
- Experience working with children with special needs or in inclusive settings is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members while maintaining a lively and motivating attitude.
